Hubungan Coping Mechanism dan Resiliensi Mahasiswa Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia dalam Situasi Pembelajaran Blended Learning = Relationship Between Coping Mechanism and Resilience in Undergraduate Students Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia in Blended Learning Situation.

Introduction COVID-19 pandemic has become a catalyst for changing of learning methods to blended learning, which may impacting student’s mental health. Resilience is an ability to adapt dynamically as a response to stressors. Coping mechanism is an ability to overcome pressure conditions as a response when ones are under stress. Medical students need to have good resilience using coping mechanism to regulate themselves well. This study examines the relationship between coping mechanism and resilience in medical students in blended learning situation. Method A cross-sectional study was conducted and involved 203 respondents, who where first to third-year medical students in FMUI. This research was done using CD-RISC and BriefCOPE Questionnaire which were validated in Indonesian context and distributed online. Results This research findings indicate that there are no significant relationships in resilience and coping mechanisms based on the variable of academic level and gender. Significant difference was found in behavioral disengagement subscale on academic level (p=0,018). Significant differences were found in religion and substance use subscales based on gender (p=0,045; p=0,010). Correlation analysis revealed significant correlation between resilience and adaptive and maladaptive coping (r=0,537,p < 0,001; r=0,165,p=0,019), resilience also showed significant correlations with adaptive and maladaptive coping on academic level (r=0,498-0,565,p < 0,001; r=-0,232,p=0,044), and gender (r=0,545- 0,554,p= < 0,001; r=0,210,p=0,021). Conclusion In a blended learning situation, significant difference was found in behavioral disengagement subscale on academic level. Significant differences were found in religion and substance use subscales based on gender. There are significant correlations found between resilience and adaptive and maladaptive coping based on academic level and gender. In such a situation, adaptative coping mechanism is crucial to support their resilience.
