Korelasi Kadar Seng Rambut dengan Massa Lemak Pada Pasien Kanker Kepala Leher Sebelum Terapi = Correlation between Hair Zinc Levels and Fat Mass in Head and Neck Cancer Patients.

Latar Belakang: Kanker kepala leher merupakan keganasan yang melibatkan nasofaring, sinonasal, laring dan rongga mulut yang menyebabkan kondisi penurunan asupan nutrisi baik makro dan mikronutrien serta berdampak pada penurunan massa lemak yang menyebabkan malnutrisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi kadar seng rambut dengan massa lemak pasien kanker kepala leher sebelum terapi. Metode: Penelitian dengan desain potong lintang dilakukan di RSCM pada Maret– Mei 2025. Subjek penelitian di dapatkan dengan teknik consecutive sampling. Data penelitian didapatkan dari wawancara karakteristik dan asupan nutrisi menggunakan semi quantitative-food frequency questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), pemeriksaan fisik, antropometri, pemeriksaan kadar seng rambut dengan metode inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry dan pengukuran presentase massa lemak menggunakan multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) SECA mBCA-525. Analisis korelasi menggunakan uji Spearman. Hasil: Median usia subjek penelitian adalah 44,5 (19–59) tahun. Jenis kelamin lakilaki lebih banyak 55,8% daripada perempuan dengan jenis kanker terbanyak adalah nasofaring yaitu 67,3%. Rerata IMT subjek penelitian adalah 21,4 ± 4,3 kg/m2 dan status gizi berdasarkan ASPEN sebagian besar tidak malnutrisi. Sebanyak 55,7% subjek penelitian dengan aktivitas fisik aktif. Rerata asupan energi 22,8 ± 4,72 kkal/kg BB, rerata asupan lemak 44,6 ± 12,1 %, median asupan protein 1,1 (0,3 − 1,7) g/kg BB, dan rerata asupan seng 5,9 ± 2,11 mg/hari. Median kadar seng rambut subjek penelitian adalah 131 (22,35 − 1135,76) µg/g. Rerata massa lemak pada penelitian ini dapatkan 23,63 ± 16,18 %. Kesimpulan: Tidak ditemukan korelasi antara kadar seng rambut dengan massa lemak pada pasien kanker kepala leher sebelum terapi.

Background: Head and neck cancer are malignancies involving the nasopharynx, sinonasal, larynx and oral cavity which cause a decrease in nutritional intake of both macro and micronutrients and have an impact on a decrease in fat mass which causes malnutrition. This study aims to determine the correlation between hair zinc levels and fat mass in head and neck cancer patients before therapy. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted at RSCM in March–May 2025. The research subjects were obtained using consecutive sampling techniques. The research data were obtained from interviews on characteristics and nutritional intake using a semi-quantitative-food frequency questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), physical examination, anthropometry, examination of hair zinc levels using the inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry method and measurement of fat mass percentage using multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) SECA mBCA-525. Correlation analysis using the Spearman test. Results: The median age of the study subjects was 44.5 (19–59) years. Male gender was more 55.8% than female with the most common type of cancer being nasopharyngeal at 67.3%. The mean BMI of the study subjects was 22,8 ± 4.72 kg/m2 and the nutritional status based on ASPEN was mostly not malnourished. As many as 55.7% with normal physical activity. The mean energy intake was 21.4 ± 4.3 kcal/kg BW, the mean fat intake was 44.6 ± 12.1%, the median protein intake was 1.1 (0.3-1.7) g/kg BW, and the mean zinc intake was 5.9 ± 2.11 mg/day. The median hair zinc levels of the study subjects were 131 (22.35-1135.76) µg/g. The average fat mass in this study was 23.63 ± 16.18%. Conclusion: There was no correlation between hair zinc levels and fat mass in head and neck cancer patients.
