Efek Pemberian Ekstrak Spirulina platensis terhadap Kadar Glutathione (GSH) pada Jaringan Hati Tikus Wistar (Rattus norvegicus) Jantan berbagai Usia = Effect of Spirulina platensis Extract on Glutathione (GSH) Levels on Liver Tissue of Male Wistar Rats (Rattus norvgicus) of various Ages.

Latar belakang Radikal bebas yang berlebih dapat mengakibatkan stres oksidatif. Glutathione (GSH) mempunyai peran yang sangat penting untuk melawan radikal bebas. Jaringan hati tersusun oleh banyak sel yang rentan terhadap serangan radikal bebas. Spirulina platensis diperkirakan mempunyai potensi antioksidan yang sangat baik terhadap hati. Oleh karena itu, peneliti hendak mengetahui pengaruh pemberian Spirulina platensis terhadap kadar glutathione (GSH) pada organ hati tikus berbagai kelompok usia. Metode Tiga puluh ekor tikus jantan Wistar dibagi ke dalam enam kelompok, yaitu pemberian akuades dan Spirulina platensis usia 12, 18, dan 24 minggu. Kadar glutathione (GSH) jaringan hati tikus diukur menggunakan metode Ellman kemudian dibagi dengan kadar protein. Hasil Kadar glutathione (GSH) dianalisis dengan uji statistik one-way anova (p=0,034) dan dilanjutkan post hoc tuckey (p>0,05). Kadar glutathione (GSH) kelompok akuades 12 minggu adalah 0,058 ± 0,008 µg/mg protein, 18 minggu adalah 0,049 ± 0,015 µg/ mg protein, dan 24 minggu adalah 0,056 ± 0,017 µg/mg protein. Kadar glutathione (GSH) pada kelompok pemberian Spirulina platensis 12 minggu adalah 0,074 ± 0,031 µg/mg protein, 18 minggu adalah 0,034 ± 0,005 µg/mg protein, dan 24 minggu adalah 0,048 ± 0,017 µg/mg protein. Kesimpulan Kadar glutathione (GSH) antara kelompok pemberian Spirulina platensis pada kelompok usia 12 minggu lebih tinggi (1,28 kali) terhadap akuades (p=0,940). Kadar glutathione (GSH) pada kelompok pemberian Spirulina platensis usia 18 minggu lebih rendah (0,69 kali) terhadap akuades (p=0,533). Kadar glutathione (GSH) pada kelompok pemberian Spirulina platensis usia 24 minggu lebih rendah (0,86 kali) terhadap akuades (p=0.953).

Introduction Excess free radicals can result in oxidative stress. Glutathione (GSH) has a very important role to fight free radicals. Liver tissue is composed of many cells that are susceptible to free radical attack. Spirulina platensis is thought to have excellent antioxidant potential against the liver. Therefore, researchers want to know the effect of giving Spirulina platensis on specific glutathione (GSH) levels in the liver of rats of various groups. Method Thirty male Wistar rats were divided into six groups, namely administration of aquades and Spirulina platensis aged 12, 18, and 24 weeks. Glutathione (GSH) levels of rat liver tissue were measured in each test group using the Ellman method by dividing the protein. Result Data analysis was carried out one-way anova test (p = 0.034) and continued post hoc tuckey (p > 0.05). The glutathione (GSH) levels of the 12-week aqueous group were 0.058 ± 0.008 μg/mg protein, 18 weeks were 0.049 ± 0.015 μg/mg protein, and 24 weeks were 0.056 ± 0.017 μg/mg protein. The glutathione (GSH) levels in the 12-week Spirulina platensis administration group were 0.074 ± 0.031 μg/mg protein, 18 weeks was 0.034 ± 0.005 μg/mg protein, and 24 weeks was 0.048 ± 0.017 μg/mg protein. Conclusion The glutathione (GSH) levels between the Spirulina platensis administration group in the 12-week age group were higher (1.28 times) than aquades (p = 0.940). The glutathione (GSH) levels in the group administering Spirulina platensis at 18 weeks of age were lower (0.69 times) than aquades (p = 0.533). The glutathione (GSH) levels in the 24-week-old Spirulina platensis group were lower (0.86 times) than aquades (p = 0.953).
