Perbandingan Persepsi Mahasiswa Klinik dan Dosen Klinik terkait Pemberian Umpan Balik Konstruktif .

Latar belakang: Umpan balik adalah media yang dapat dipakai untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran. Definisi umpan balik kini diperluas dengan memberikan kritik serta saran kepada pembelajar. Di dunia pendidikan kedokteran, pemberian umpan balik sangatlah penting untuk memastikan dokter-dokter masa depan ini memiliki kompetensi klinis yang mumpuni serta memberikan pelayanan kesehatan yang terbaik. Beberapa penelitian terbaru mengemukakan bahwa persepsi dosen dengan mahasiswa terkait umpan balik masih belum mendapatkan titik temu. Hal ini berpotensi menghambat proses pembelajaran dan peningkatan performa mahasiswa. Metode: Penelitian ini adalah penelitian potong lintang yang dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner yang disebarkan menggunakan Google Form kepada mahasiswa tahap klinik serta dosen dari departemen-departemen klinik Fakultas Kedokteran Universitas Indonesia. Kuesioner terdiri atas 22 pernyataan dan dinilai dengan menggunakan skala Likert satu sampai lima, dengan satu menunjukkan bahwa responden sangat tidak setuju dan lima menunjukkan bahwa responden sangat setuju. Hasil kuesioner kemudian diolah dengan menggunakan SPSS. Hasil kuesioner diolah dengan uji normalitas, uji deskriptif, dan uji nonparametrik dua kelompok independen Mann-Whitney. Hasil: Kuesioner diisi oleh 123 orang mahasiswa klinik (Profesi I dan Profesi II) dan 69 orang dosen dari departemen klinik. Hasil analisis responden kuesioner antara dosen klinik dengan mahasiswa klinik tentang kepentingan pemberian umpan balik konstruktif, metode pemberian umpan balik konstruktif, serta tantangan pemberian umpan balik konstruktif memiliki nilai p < 0,05. Kesimpulan: Persepsi antara dosen klinik dengan mahasiswa klinik tentang kepentingan pemberian umpan balik konstruktif, metode pemberian umpan balik konstruktif, serta tantangan pemberian umpan balik konstruktif berbeda.

Introduction: Feedback is a medium which can be used to improve the quality of learning. The definition of feedback gets broadened to giving critiques and advice as well. It is more important than ever for medical students to be given feedback by their teachers so that these students can improve their clinical competencies and give the best healthcare in the future. Recent research states that the perception between the faculty staff and the students regarding constructive feedback are different. This condition might affect the learning process of the students and their performance in the future. Method: This is cross-sectional research that used a questionnaire and distributed by using Google Forms to clinical years students and clinical department faculty staff in Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia. It is made of 22 statements. The questionnaire used Likert scale of one to five. The score of one reflects that they strongly disagree and the score of five reflects that they strongly agree with the statement. The responses are processed by using SPSS. The responses then tested with normality test, descriptive test, and nonparametric test, Mann-Whitney. Result: The questionnaire’s respondents are 123 students and 69 faculty staff. After the data got analyzed, the p value of the three components is below 0,05 Conclusion: The perception between the clinical medicine faculty staff and clinical medicine students regarding importance of feedback, methods of providing feedback, and barriers of providing constructive feedback are different.
