Korelasi Antara Lingkar Perut dengan Berat Badan Aktual pada Pasien Rawat Jalan di Poliklinik Radioterapi RSCM = Correlation Between Abdominal Circumference and Actual Body Weight in Outpatients at the Radiotherapy Polyclinic RSCM.

Latar belakang: Berat badan adalah suatu hal yang penting untuk diperiksakan pada pasien di rumah sakit, guna menentukan status gizi pasien. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada pasien rawat jalan di poliklinik radioterapi RSCM dikarenakan tingginya prevalensi malnutrisi (25%-70%) pada pasien kanker. Walaupun demikian, pasien yang menjalani perawatan di rumah sakit tidak semuanya mampu melakukan pengukuran antropometri dengan berdiri karena ada beberapa pasien yang memiliki gangguan imobilitas sehingga menyebabkan mereka tidak dapat berdiri ataupun duduk, kelainan postur tubuh, atau pasien dengan risiko jatuh. Melalui kondisi ini, berat badan dapat diukur dengan cara lain, seperti menggunakan bed weighing scales. Namun, hal tersebut sulit dilakukan karena harga yang sangat mahal sehingga tidak semua rumah sakit menyediakan alat tersebut. Oleh sebab itu, perlu alternatif lain sebagai parameter antropometri untuk mengukur berat badan pasien dengan kondisi tersebut, seperti mengukur lingkar perut. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menentukan korelasi antara lingkar perut dengan berat badan aktual pasien rawat jalan di poliklinik radioterapi RSCM. Metode: Penelitian ini akan dilakukan dengan studi desain potong lintang melalui uji korelasi. Hasil: Hasil menunjukkan bahwa lingkar perut dengan berat badan memiliki korelasi kuat (r = 0,884) dan tingkat kemaknaan bermakna (p < 0,001). Hasil juga menunjukkan rerata usia pasien 47 tahun yang didominasi oleh pasien laki-laki, rerata berat badan aktual adalah 54,81 ± 14,24 kg, dan rerata lingkar perut adalah 75,20 ± 12,33 cm. Kesimpulan: Berdasarkan penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat korelasi antara lingkar perut dengan berat badan aktual pasien radioterapi sehingga lingkar perut dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu alternatif dalam memperkirakan berat badan seseorang.

Introduction: Body weight is an important thing to be screened in patients at the hospital, in order to determine the nutritional status of the patients. This study was conducted on outpatients at the radiotherapy polyclinic RSCM due to the high prevalence of malnutrition (25%-70%) in cancer patients. However, not all of the patients undergoing treatment at the hospital were able to perform anthropometric measurements by standing because there were some patients with immobility that made them unable to stand or sit, had abnormal posture, or patients with risk of falling. Under these conditions, body weight can be measured in other ways, such as using bed weighing scales. Nevertheless, this is difficult to do because the price is very expensive thus not all hospitals provide these tools. Therefore, other alternatives are needed as anthropometric parameters to measure the weight of patients with these conditions, such as measuring abdominal circumference. This study was conducted to determine the correlation between abdominal circumference and actual body weight of outpatients at the radiotherapy polyclinic RSCM. Method: This study will be conducted with a cross-sectional design through correlation test. Result: The results show that abdominal circumference and body weight have a strong correlation (r = 0.884) and a very significant level of significance (p < 0.001). It also shows that the mean age of the patients is 47 years, which is dominated by male patients, the mean actual body weight is 54.81 ± 14.24 kg, and the mean abdominal circumference is 75.20 ± 12.33 cm. Conclusion: Based on this study, it can be concluded that there is a correlation between abdominal circumference and actual body weight of radiotherapy patients, so that abdominal circumference can be used as an alternative in estimating body weight.
