Tingkat Depresi Pasien Kanker Paru pada Masa Pandemi COVID-19 = Depression in Patients with Lung Cancer during COVID-19 Pandemic.
Latar belakang: Perubahan masif terhadap berbagai aspek kehidupan akibat pandemi COVID-19 memunculkan bebagai tekanan psikologis yang berdampak pada peningkatan gangguan kesehatan mental, terutam pada kelompok rentan seperti pasien kanker paru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat depresi pada pasien kanker paru selama pandemi. Metode: Studi potong lintang dilakukan pada pasien rawat jalan Poli Onkologi RSUP Persahabatan Jakarta, Indonesia. Metode pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah consecutive sampling. Status depresi pada pasien dinilai menggunakan kuesioner Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) versi Bahasa Indonesia. Karakteristik sosiodemografis dan klinis pasien, serta faktor terkait stress akibat pandemi COVID-19 (hambatan pengobatan, hambatan akses menuju fasilitas kesehatan, kekhawatiran akibat terhambatnya pengobatan, paparan informasi terkait COVID-19, tekanan psikologis, kualitas hubungan interpersonal) juga dinilai. Hasil: Dari 42 pasien, 42,9% mengalami depresi selama pandemi COVID-19. Faktorfakotor yang berkaitan dengan depresi antara lain jenis kelamin perempuan, status ekonomi rendah, tampilan status yang lebih buruk, kemoterapi, dan tingginya frekuensi merasa tertekan secara psikologis akibat COVID-19. Kesimpulan: Studi ini menunjukan angka prevalensi depresi pada pasien kanker paru yang tinggi selama pandemi COVID-19. Penilaian lebih lanjut dan intervensi psikologis harus dipertimbangkan untuk mencegah penurunan status kesehatan mental dan kualitas hidup pasien yang dapat memperburuk prognosis.

Introduction: Massive changes in various aspects of life due to COVID-19 pandemic arises several psychological distresses, which further emerges mental health disorders, especially in the vulnerable groups, such as patients with lung cancer. This study aimed to explore the depression status of patients with lung cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic. Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted in Thoracic Oncology Outpatient Clinic in Persahabatan National Respiratory Referral Hospital Jakarta, Indonesia. Patients were recruited using consecutive sampling methods. Depression status was assessed using selfreported Patient Health Questionnaire-9 (PHQ-9) in Bahasa Indonesia. Sociodemographic, clinical characteristics, and COVID-19 stress-related factors (worrying about delays in treatment, frequency of receiving COVID-19 information, barriers to access healthcare facilities and to continue treatment, psychological pressure, and interpersonal relationships quality during the pandemic) were also measured. Result: Among 42 patients, 42.9% had depression during COVID-19 pandemic. Female gender, low economic status, poor performance status, chemotherapy, and having a higher frequency of psychological pressure due to COVID-19 were significantly associated with depression. Conclusion: The current study revealed a high prevalence of depression in patients with lung cancer during COVID-19 pandemic. Further assessment and psychological interventions must be considered to prevent the declining of mental health status and patients’ quality of life, which could further lead to the decline of patients’ prognosis.
