Perbandingan Kadar Karbon Monoksida Ekspirasi pada Mahasiswa Laki-laki Perokok Putih dan Perokok Kretek di Lingkungan Universitas di Depok = Comparison of Expiratory Carbon Monoxide Levels in Male Students of White Smokers and Kretek Smokers in the University Environment in Depok.

Latar Belakang: Dampak merokok masih menjadi permasalahan besar di Dunia meskipun penggunaan rokok merupakan salah satu penyebab kematian terbesar yang dapat dicegah. Salah satu zat yang berbahaya dari merokok adalah karbon monoksida, sayangnya belum dilakukan penelitian antara tingkatan karbon monoksida perokok rokok putih dengan rokok kretek pada mahasiswa di Indonesia Tujuan: Mengetahui perbandingan kadar CO ekspirasi pada mahasiswa laki-laki perokok rokok putih dan kretek di universitas di Depok Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi Potong-Lintang dengan 108 sampel yang dibagi menjadi dua kelompok perokok putih dan perokok kretek dengan teknik pengambilan sampel consecutive. Subyek melakukan tes CO ekspirasi dan mengisi kuesioner yang berhubungan dengan kebiasaan merokok dan faktor-faktor lainnya. Hasil: Penelitian mendapatkan hasil karbon monoksida ekspirasi pada perokok rokok putih 13,9 ± 8,36 ppm dan kretek sebesar 13,18 ± 8,79 ppm, sementara hasil uji statistik pilihan tipe rokok terhadap karbon monoksida sebesar 0,663. Sementara terdapat faktor lainnya yang berpengaruh terhadap CO ekspirasi subyek yaitu Indeks Brinkman dengan p < 0,001 dengan korelasi lemah, sementara terdapat faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap pilihan tipe rokok yaitu uang saku dengan nilai p 0,023 dan umur dengan nilai 0,015. Kesimpulan: Tidak terdapat hubungan bermakna secara statistik antara rerata perokok putih atau perokok kretek dengan kadar karbon monoksida ekspirasi pada subyek, hal tersebut mungkin dikarenakan pengaruh yang lebih signifikan oleh jumlah rokok yang dikonsumsi (IB). Melihat tren di Indonesia rokok kretek relatif lebih murah dibandingkan rokok putih, maka uang saku menjadi salah satu faktor yang menentukan pilihan rokok putih atau kretek pada mahasiswa di Depok.

Background: The impact of smoking is still a big problem in the world although the use of cigarettes is one of the biggest causes of death that can be prevented. One of the harmful substances of smoking is carbon monoxide, unfortunately research has not been conducted between the levels of carbon monoxide smokers of regular cigarettes or clove cigarettes to college students in Indonesia Objective: The aim of this study is to determine the relationship of expiratory CO levels in smoking male students of regular and clove cigarettes at universities in Depok Methods: This study uses a cross-sectional study design with 108 samples divided into two groups of white cigarette smokers and clove cigarette smokers with consecutive sampling technique. Subjects took the expiratory CO test and filled out questionnaires related to smoking and other factors. Results: The study found expiratory carbon monoxide results in regular cigarette smokers at 13.9 ± 8.36 ppm and clove cigarette at 13.18 ± 8.79 ppm, while the statistical test results of the choice of cigarette types on carbon monoxide amounted to 0.663. While there are other factors that influence subject's CO expiration, such as the Brinkman Index with p < 0.001 and a weak correlation result, however there are factors that influence the choice of cigarette type, namely pocket money with a p value of 0.023 and age with a value of 0.015 Conclusion: There was no statistically significant relationship between the average of white cigarette smokers or clove cigarette smokers with expiratory carbon monoxide levels in subjects, this might be due to a more significant effect on the number of cigarettes consumed (BI). Seeing the trend in Indonesia that kretek cigarettes are relatively cheaper than white cigarettes, pocket money is one of the factors that determine the choice of white or kretek cigarettes for college students in Depok.
