Hubungan Kebiasaan Merokok dengan Hasil Jarak Tempuh Tes Cooper pada Petugas Keamanan = Relationship between Smoking Behaviour and Cooper Test Result in Security Personnel.

Latar belakang: Merokok merupakan salah satu faktor risiko dari berbagai penyakit tidak menular, yang mencakup sekitar 71% penyebab kematian di Indonesia. Salah satu cara untuk mencegah penyakit tidak menular adalah dengan menjaga kebugaran jasmani yang prima. Petugas keamanan merupakan kelompok populasi yang memerlukan kebugaran jasmani yang lebih prima dibandingkan masyarakat biasa. Kemampuan fisik tersebut diukur salah satunya dengan cara tes lari dua belas menit (tes Cooper). Namun, belum ada studi yang meneliti mengenai kebugaran jasmani maupun derajat konsumsi rokok pada petugas keamanan, demikian juga dengan hubungan antara keduanya. Oleh karena itu, peneliti melakukan penelitian mengenai hubingan kebiasaan merokok dengan hasil jarak tempuh tes Cooper pada petugas keamanan. Tujuan: Untuk mengetahui hubingan antara Indeks Brinkman dengan hasil jarak tempuh tes Cooper pada petugas keamanan. Metode: Sebanyak minimal 35 orang petugas keamanan yang memenuhi kriteria inklusi dan kriteria eksklusi dilibatkan dalam penelitian. Kemudian, peneliti menanyakan beberapa hal mengenai konsumsi rokok (lampiran 2), dan mendapatkan data hasil jarak tempuh tes Cooper dari K3L FKUI. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan SPSS versi 20, dengan uji Pearson. Hasil: Rerata jarak tempuh tes Cooper pada petugas keamanan adalah 1771,93 ± 282,09 meter (1675,03 – 1868,83; 95% IK), sedangkan indeks Brinkman pada petugas keamanan adalah 8,89 [0 – 18,20] (5,40 – 9,58; 95% IK). Indeks Brinkman berkorelasi sedang secara signifikan terhadap hasil jarak tempuh tes Cooper (r=-0,411 (-0,069 – -0,631; 95% IK); p=0,007) Simpulan: Terdapat korelasi negatif antara Indeks Brinkman dengan hasil jarak tempuh tes Cooper.

Background: Smoking is one of the risk factors of non-communicable diseases, which include about 71% deaths causes in Indonesia. One of the measures to prevent non-communicable diseases is to maintain physical fitness. Security Personnels need to have higher physical performance than general public. One way to measure the physical performance is 12-minute run test, known as Cooper test. However, only few studies have explored about physical performance in security personnels or military and also smoking among them. Moreover, there have not been any single study conducted in Indonesia to explore them. Therefore, we would like to know the relationship between smoking behaviour and Cooper test result in security personnel. Objectives: To find the correlation between smoking behaviour and Cooper test result in security personnel. Methods: A minimum sample of 35 security personnels who fulfilled the inclusion and exclusion criteria are included in this research. Then, we asked them to fill the information about their smoking habits as in the quitionaire (Appendix 1), whereas the Cooper test data is provided by the K3L unit. The data are then analysed by using SPSS version 20 with pearson correlation test. Results: The average distance covered by the security personnels is 1771,93 ± 282,09 meter (1675,03 – 1868,83; 95% CI), whereas Brinkman index among our samples is 8,89 [0 – 18,20] (5,40 – 9,58; 95% CI). Based on the correlation test, Brinkman Index significantly have a moderate correlation to Cooper test result (r=-0,411 (-0,069 – -0,631; 95% CI); p=0,007) Conclusion: There are negative correlation between Brinkman Index and Cooper test result in security personnels.
