Efek Akupunktur Telinga terhadap Penurunan Skor Hot Flush dan Peningkatan Kualitas Hidup pada Pasien Kanker Prostat yang Diterapi dengan Agonis Luteinizing Hormone-Releasing Hormone (LHRH) = Auricular Acupuncture Effect to Hot Flush Score Decrease and Quality of Life Increase associate with Luteinizing Hormone-Releasing Hormon (LHRH) Agonist Treatment for Prostate Cancer Patient.

Efek samping yang paling banyak dialami oleh penderita kanker prostat yang diterapi dengan agonis LHRH adalah Hot flush. Ternyata diketahui bahwa terdapat hubungan yang erat antara hot flush dengan penurunan Kualitas Hidup para penderita kanker. Bermacam terapi untuk hot flush salah satunya dengan akupunktur telinga. Adanya pelepasan β-endorfin yang mempertahankan mekanisme negatife feedback pada produksi noradrenalin hipotalamus menyebabkan akupunktur telinga dapat meringankan gejala hot flush, dan βendorfin ternyata juga menghambat efek CGRP sehingga terjadi penurunan gejala hot flush. Gejala hot flush yang menurun setelah dilakukan akupunktur telinga akan dapat mengembalikan kembali kualitas hidup dari penderita kanker prostat. Maksud dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui efek akupunktur telinga terhadap penurunan skor Hot Flush Diary (HFD), skor Hot Flush Related Daily Interference Scale (HFRDIS) dan terhadap peningkatan Kualitas Hidup pada pasien kanker prostat yang diterapi dengan agonis LHRH setelah 12 kali tindakan akupunktur. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara randomized clinical trial terhadap 30 orang pasien kanker prostat yang mengalami hot flush akibat terapi LHRH. Pasien dibagi dalam 2 kelompok yaitu 15 orang sebagai kelompok yang menerima terapi akupunktur telinga (kasus) dan 15 orang sebagai kelompok yang menerima terapi plasebopunktur telinga (kontrol). Penilaian keberhasilan terapi menggunakan The Hot Flush Diary dan The Hot Flush Related Daily Interference Scale (HFRDIS) Angka keberhasilan akupunktur terhadap penurunan skor HFD dan skor HFRDIS pada pasien kanker prostat yang diterapi dengan LHRH setelah 12 kali adalah 86.7%. Rerata penurunan skor HFD setelah 12 kali terapi akupunktur adalah (3.733 ± 2.282). Sedangkan rerata penurunan skor HFRDIS setelah 12 kali terapi akupunktur adalah (35.866 ± 13.511). Akupunktur telinga mempunyai efek menurunkan skor Hot Flush (HFD) dan skor Hot Flush Related Daily Interference Scale (HFRDIS) pada pasien kanker prostat yang diterapi dengan LHRH, berbeda bermakna dibandingkan dengan plasebopunktur (p < 0.05).

Most side effects experienced by patients with prostate cancer who were treated with LHRH agonists is hot flush. It emerged that there is a close relationship between the hot flush with a reduced quality of life of cancer patients. Various therapies for hot flush one with ear acupuncture. The release of β-endorphin maintain negative feedback mechanism in the hypothalamus causes the production of noradrenaline ear acupuncture can relieve the symptoms of hot flush, and βendorphins were also inhibit the effects of CGRP resulting in decreased symptoms of hot flush. Hot flush symptoms decreased after ear acupuncture will be able to restore back the quality of life of prostate cancer patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ear acupuncture to decrease score Hot Flush Diary (HFD), a score of Hot Flush Related Daily Interference Scale (HFRDIS) and to the improvement of quality of life in prostate cancer patients treated with agonist LHRH after 12 times the action of acupuncture. This research was conducted in randomized clinical trial of 30 patients prostate cancer who experience hot flush due to LHRH therapy. Patients are divided in 2 groups :15 patients as the group who received ear acupuncture therapy (case) and 15 patients as the group received ear placebopuncture therapy (control). Assessement of the success of therapy using the hot flush diary and Hot Flush score Related Daily Interference Scale (HFRDIS). Figures for the success of acupuncture to the decline of HFD score and HFRDIS score in prostate cancer patients treated with LHRH after 12 time is 86,7 %. The mean of the decrease of HFD score after 12 times acupuncture treatments was (3.733 ± 2.282). The mean of the decrease of HFRDIS score after 12 times acupuncture treatments was (35.866 ± 13.511). Ear acupuncture has the effect of lowering HFD score and HFRDIS score in prostate cancer patients treated with LHRH, significantly different compared with placebopuncture (p< 0.05)
