The Association between Maldigestion and Malnutrition among Paediatric Patients with Diarrhea in Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital = Asosiasi antara Maldigesti dan Malnutrisi pada Pasien Anak dengan Diare di Rumah Sakit Cipto Mangunkusumo.

Maldigestion is defined as the failure of the digestive system to break down nutrients in order for it to be absorbed by the the body. Maldigestion is commonly found in children due to the incomplete maturation of pancreas which secretes digestive enzymes. The failure of digestion resulted in abnormal passing of stool known as diarrhea. If this condition persists and not being treated properly, it will lead to malnutrition. The direct association between maldigestion and malnutrition has not yet been properly researched. In this project, we gathered the characteristic of stool analysis of pediatric patients of Cipto Mangunkusumo hospital aged younger than five years old with maldigestion and associate it with their nutritional status according to the WHO weight for length/height chart. Out of 121 patients, we found that the prevalence of maldigestion is 37.2%. This study also found that there is no significant association between maldigestion and malnutrition (p>0.05), however, there is significant association (p0.05), namun, terdapat asosiasi yang signifikan antara maldigesti makanan dan berat badan (p
