Angka kejadian tuberkulosis paru pada petugas kesehatan berdasarkan status gizi di rumah sakit persahabatan. = Prevalence of Pulmonary Tuberculosis in Healthcare Workers in Association with Nutritional Status in Persahabatan Hospital.

Tuberculosis is one of the leading infectious diseases in Indonesia. Its transmission through droplets causes the easy spread of this disease. The healthcare workers who work with infectious agents predispose themselves, especially those who come into direct contact with tuberculosis patients daily, to develop this disease. The purpose of this study is to acquire the prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis in healthcare workers based on sex and age in Persahabatan Hospital.

This study conducted a cross-sectional descriptive study by questionnaires to the healthcare workers selected through consecutive sampling during the period of April–May 2010. The results of this study showed that from 250 respondents, 13 (5.2%) respondents were underweight, 135 (54%) respondents had normal nutritional status, and 102 (40.8%) respondents were overweight. Six (2.4%) healthcare workers had a history of pulmonary tuberculosis during their work period in Persahabatan Hospital, with the distribution as follows: 1 (16.67%) respondent was underweight, 2 (33.33%) had normal nutritional status, and 3 (50%) respondents were overweight.

Using the Fisher Test in SPSS 15.0 Program, nutritional status (p=0.418) was not associated with the prevalence of pulmonary tuberculosis in healthcare workers in Persahabatan Hospital.
