Body fat percentage student population in sedentary lifestyle after aerobic exercise: a comparison study
Background: Sedentary lifestyle has been known as an important risk factor of some chronic illnesses such as cardiovascular disease, obesity and other diseases. Physical activity will help to lower body weight, BMI and total body fat. Objectives: Evaluate the changes of body fat percentage after aerobic exercise in the student population with sedentary lifestyle. Methods: a comparison study which analyzing data after a student population exposed to 12 weeks of aerobic exercise. Statistical analysis using paired T-test. The variables measured are weight, BMI and body fat percentage before and after exposed to physical exercise. Results: Body fat loss percentage (3.1591 ± 4.1907; p < 0.05), BMI (0.3733 ± 0.788; 0.742) and weight (0.1551 ± 2.1407; 0.614). Conclusion: Body fat percentage statistically significant reduced after exposed to aerobic exercise. While, weight and BMI did not reduce due to aerobic exercise.
